The secret council houses...
2013 continues to get better and better!..
Just when you thought things really couldn't sink any lower comes the news that council now have so much of their housing stock rented out to foreigners that they are keeping the numbers secret from their electorate.
Local authorities are supressing the number of flats and houses that they are renting to foreign families because they fear a backlash from the electorate who are, quite rightly, concerned at high levels of immigration.
Labour's Frank Field and Conservative Nicholas Soames have joined forces to call for a public enquiry into who exactly benefits from council and housing association social housing. They are concerned that long standing local residents are being pushed down the queue in order to give the homes to immigrants.
Councils in London, where one in five publicly-financed homes are already known to be occupied by foreigners, are among those no longer supplying the figures. Last year ministers acknowledged that a fifth of the nearly 800,000 publicly-owned homes in London are occupied by families and individuals who are citizens of other countries.
Greenwich, Hackney, Lambeth and Newham have al refused to reveal figure even though it is a legal requirement. Ealing and Haringey are claiming - rather fancilfully in my view - that they do not have exact figures because tenants are refusing to divulge their nationality.
I have to ask a simple question : If there is nothing to hide, then why are these authorities and others around the country refusing to divulge the figures?
Could it be because they now full well that they are crapping on the very people who elected them in the first place? Shurely not...

I'm really not surprised to see Newham in East London allegedly covering up just how many of their council homes are being let to foreigners. Newham is a place where it has long been rumoured by the dwindling numbers of natural born residents in that borough that housing is allocated on the grounds of minority status or more importantly whether or not an applicant is a Muslim or not. I know, via contacts in Newham, of one particular case in that borough where a Mercedes driving Afghan 'asylum seeker' and their family were given a three bedroom house, something that normal Brits of all races in that borough have to wait for years to get the chance of.
Newham is one of the nastiest of Labour rotten boroughs, sadly it doesn't surprise me one bit to see them prioritising the non contributor, the non British, and the non Christian for housing.
To conclude: Many of the few remaining British people who live in Newham are desparately trying to get out. Often they are fleeing because they KNOW that although they may have contributed for 30-40-50 years in tax, NI and rates/council tax, they will be treated as second or third class citizens by state 'service providers' as long as the live in Newham.
I have no direct personal knowledge of Newham, but certainly in Leicester you are a foreigner in your own country - but at least that was down to Idi Amin not the EU which makes a change.
If you are white, able bodied, hetrosexual, male, christian and many other factors, then you are pushed to the bottom of the pile on many issues these days.
I feel particularly sorry for pensioners. While we are worrying about young job seekers and families with mortgages, the poor bloody pensioner (living on the interest from the savings he was told to put by for his old age) is being screwed into the ground.
Perhaps we should convert to Islam? At least then we might get a council house...
I knew things with local government in London were bad but I didn't know it was THIS bad. So much of this stuff gets swept under the carpet and quietly forgotten about. This is truly horrifying.
Lets hope Frank Field and Nicolas Soames get their Public enquiry. But... I suspect it will be blocked or adulterated.
